About: Levent Bas
Levent, who was born and raised in Istanbul, is working as an energy associate in Verbund International in Vienna, Austria. He is involved in several gas, hydro, wind, solar powered generation projects and retail/distribution projects. His major focus is on the Turkish market, and he got the chance to learn more about Central and Eastern European energy markets.
Levent got into energy when he co-founded a team and started building the first Solar Car of his university during his senior year with a group of 3 people.
Levent started sailing when he was 9 years old, and he loves to sail wherever he finds some water. He is co-founder of the Bogazici University Sailing Club and creator of a nationally adopted college sailing education system. He also enjoys hiking and cycling on the skirts of the Alps.
He holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul.
