About: Mike Messinger
Mike is a director at intellectual property specialty law firm Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox in the electronics and clean tech practice areas. He works with company officers and engineers to identify patentable inventions and build strategic patent portfolios for their company’s products and services. He also helps knock out invalid patents of their competitors.
Mike has worked for many years representing individuals, emerging companies and large Fortune 500 companies. His clients tend to give him the hard technical stuff like advanced graphics, computer networking protocols, web technologies (AJAX), biometrics, voice-over-the Internet, fiber optics, and geographic information systems. He is also active in clean technologies like smart grid and storage.
Mike’s current focus is to help develop creative patent strategies for green technologies that protect a company’s private interest in obtaining a high ROI and a public interest in widespread adoption of new cost-effective sustainable technologies.
Mike regularly teaches and publishes on emerging patent law topics that affect one’s ability to protect and release innovation in the United States.
