Following up on the last blog post about AirBus’s vision of a sustainable future for aviation, we hear that German airline Lufthansa has entered a partnership with Algae.Tec to build a large-scale algae-based jet fuel production facility in Europe.
The agreement is the first step in a long-term cooperation to produce aviation kerosene from crude algae on an industrial scale. (more…)

The end of subsidies for fossil fuels was one of the big topics at Rio+20. One of the businessman to support initiative was Virgin founder Richard Branson.
He said getting ridding of all subsidies of fossil fuels would be one of the most useful outcomes of the Rio+20. “That would be the biggest boost for the clean fuel industry,” he told Green Biz. (more…)
