SWITCH Lighting, a maker of Light Emitting Diodes lights to replace incandescent light bulbs, is now retailing at over 350 participating Batteries Plus stores across the U.S. The company’s LED lights, a more sustainable lighting alternative to incandescent bulbs, save up to 80 percent energy compared with traditional lights.

Energy Star, the governmental initiative to promote energy efficiency, has launched a video challenge to give the public a platform to engage with each other.
People can record a video telling everyone what they are doing in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities to become more energy efficient with Energy Star (Check out our energy saving tips). (more…)

The US has grown an energy conscience. Just look around in stores that sell appliances, computers, televisions, light bulbs or any kind of electric equipment. You’ll see the words ‘energy saving’ or ‘energy efficient’ on a lot of the packaging.

I recently had the chance to take part in an excellent green data center conference in San Diego. In between trying to soak up as much solar radiation as possible, I had the chance to test the pulse of the green data center movement with a diverse group of data center professionals and specialist consultants.

Last week, the President visited manufacturers in Wisconsin who are focused on creating the clean energy products of the future. Today, he continues taking his agenda for innovation and a new energy economy on the road, visiting an Energy Innovation Hub in State College, Pennsylvania.
