There are very real benefits to using solar to power parts of our facilities, not the least of which is the fact that it’s better for the environment.

Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) is Maine company that develops ocean and river power systems.

Ocean Power Technologies (OPT) and Lockheed Martin have announced they will team to develop a 19-megawatt (MW) wave energy project off the coast of Victoria, Australia. When complete, the project will be one of the largest wave energy generation projects in the world. (more…)

Gehrlicher Solar America has announced the completion of two additional commercial solar energy installations in the United States. The company completed a 151 kW ground-mounted system in North Dartmouth, intends to add another 5 MW of projects in the state over the course of 2012. (more…)

Hawaii’s commitment to alternative energy recently reached a milestone.
According to Business Week, Hawaiian Electric Co. has reached 20 megawatts of solar photovoltaic energy on the island of Oahu. The utility said the mark was reached in July when they installed Easter Seals’ PV system. Easter Seals, a (more…)

At least, Campbell’s Soup USA (creator of the slogan above) must think so, because they are adding a solar power system to their facility in Napoleon, Ohio.
