The latest issue of Monthly Energy Review, published by the Energy Information Administration, revealed that renewable energy production has been larger than nuclear energy production in the U.S.. Whenever I’m at a party and someone hears that I work at a utility they usually begin grilling me on wind. Why doesn’t it make up a bigger portion of our energy mix? Why aren’t we doing more? New rule approved by Obama administration could speed up offshore wind projects by up to a year.

By 2020, the Chinese government plans to generate 15 percent of the nation’s total energy consumption by increasing the use of alternatives to fossil fuels, such as wind and solar power.
